FES delegation from Jordan, Lebanon and Egypt participate in the 2018 UITP Congress in Dubai.
Public transport matters and citizens should have a say in it. This is especially true for informal/paratranist, which accounts in most of our cities for 80% of all trips. A FES delegation from Jordan, Lebanon and Egypt participated in the 2018 UITP (The International Association of Public Transport) Congress in Dubai.
For the first time, UITP MENA dedicated an entire panel to civil society involvement in public transport with a special focus on informal/ paratransit. All FES delegation members where part in establishing the UITP working group on informal transport.
The event – in partnership with RTA (Roads and Transport Authority of Dubai) – aims to highlight the growing trends, developments, projects and successes in the MENA region by bringing together leading industry figures and bodies.
The 2018 edition saw over 900 delegates from 30 countries, 85 international and regional speakers and moderators from 21 countries attend the event under the theme ‘Pioneering for Customer Happiness’.
