Trade Unions

The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung is convinced that social justice is a cornerstone of social democracy. Trade unions are key actors in promoting democracy and social justice. Cooperation with trade unions is therefore a cross-cutting task in all areas for the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung as a whole.

FES Iraq is working closely with all active trade unions in Iraq directly and through our partner the Iraqi Center for Workers’ culture on many topics such as the right of freedom of association, organizing democratic unions and strengthening their skills in organizing, campaigning and communication in order for unionists to defend and claim workers’ right with the aim to achieve social justice for ALL.
