The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) office in Amman Jordan started working in 1985, where its activities focuses on promoting social democracy, sustainable economic growth, political participation, social justice and gender equity, as well as contributing to ecological sustainability through the Regional Climate & Energy Project.

Since 2004, FES Amman Office also has been coordinating the activities of FES in Iraq. FES Iraq projects started with supporting constitutional process and developing new media outlets, as well as engaging in training the Iraqi election monitors, and over the years, FES has extended its network of local partners and has broadened the scope of its activities in Iraq.

FES Jordan

The FES engages in extensive activities across the entire MENA region. In Jordan, FES opened its office in 1985 and is accredited through a long-standing partnership with the Royal Scientific Society (RSS).

FES Iraq

The FES has engaged since 2004 in supporting and consolidating democratization process in Iraq. FES intensively has supported, and still, in building public institutions, strengthening of civil society and promoting Human Rights in Iraq.

FES Climate and Energy Project MENA

FES has stepped up its work on climate change and energy issues in the MENA region since the establishment of the Regional Climate and Energy Project in Amman in 2013. FES is active in three thematic fields.
