The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES) office in Amman Jordan started working in 1986, where its activities focuses on promoting social democracy, sustainable economic growth, political participation, social justice and gender equality, as well as contributing to peace and security in the region and ecological sustainability through the Regional Climate & Energy Project.
Since 2004, FES Amman Office also has been coordinating the activities of FES in Iraq. FES Iraq projects started with supporting constitutional process and developing new media outlets, as well as engaging in training the Iraqi election monitors, and over the years, FES has extended its network of local partners and has broadened the scope of its activities in Iraq.
